Come Vote for the Most Artful Bra!





If you live in Manitoba, I strongly urge you to drop by the Ponemah Arts Centre at 300 Railway Street in Ponemah before the end of August. You'll not only have the chance to meet the lovely Betty Jackson, you'll have the chance to donate to Palliative Care in the NE Interlake, and vote for your choice in the Most Artful Bra fundraising event.

There are 5 categories to vote for: Best in show, most creative, most amusing, most outlandish and prettiest. My friend, Margaret and I had a blast looking at the amazing creations. Be sure to go around the entire display at least three times as you'll be surprised at what you've missed each time around.

    We have 132 Bras in as of July 30th.
    Voting has begun so come and see for yourself which one is the most outstanding, funny and weird.
    It's all in good fun and a great fund raiser.

It is with sadness that we say goodbye to Marjorie (Marj, Margie) Meisner, who passed away suddenly in her home on Monday, March 27, 2017. Marjorie will be missed by husband Ron, and everyone who knew her. She always had a smile for everyone she encountered. Marjorie (on the right) playing the ukulele. Marjorie is best known for her musical talents. She loved to sing, and played the guitar, the tin whistle, and the ukulele--probably others, as Marjorie's life was greatly enhanced by her musical connections. Marjorie loved to gather with friends and was a member of the informal music group that meets at the Matlock Rec Club. Do give Ron Meisner a hug when you see him.

December events at the MRC

December is always a busy month at the Matlock Rec Club. On December 3rd, we've got Breakfast with Santa from 9-11 am. There will be a Silver Collection. December 10th is our annual Christmas Dinner & Dance. Tickets are $27 for members and $30 for non-members. Cocktails are at 5:30 pm. A roast beef dinner will be served at 6 pm. Tickets are available from board members or by calling Randy Benedictson at (204) 389-2394. December 31st, we will be having a New Year's Eve Social from 8 pm until 1:30 am. Tickets are just $15 per person and are available by calling any board member or Dave and Sandy Lobban at (204) 389-4980. We wish you and your families a very joyous holiday season--in any way you choose to celebrate. Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, and all the best for 2017.
