The terrible weather today couldn't dampen our spirits and all who faced the rains enjoyed fellowship, coffee and donuts at the MRC for our First Annual "Hi Neighbour Day." Thanks to Frank Ursel for organizing the event and congrats to Debra Leitch who won the lovely fire-pit.

The walking/fitness club will resume doing its thing on Monday, Sept. 28th. Come get fit and have some fun while you're at it.

Just a reminder that the flu clinic will be held at the MRC from 9-11:30 am on October 22nd.

And for those who are curious, the winner of the bursary was Abreana Torchia of Matlock. Abreana was presented with her award at the Gimli High School Grad. Congrats, Abreana!

It is with sadness that we say goodbye to Marjorie (Marj, Margie) Meisner, who passed away suddenly in her home on Monday, March 27, 2017. Marjorie will be missed by husband Ron, and everyone who knew her. She always had a smile for everyone she encountered. Marjorie (on the right) playing the ukulele. Marjorie is best known for her musical talents. She loved to sing, and played the guitar, the tin whistle, and the ukulele--probably others, as Marjorie's life was greatly enhanced by her musical connections. December events at the MRC

December is always a busy month at the Matlock Rec Club. On December 3rd, we've got Breakfast with Santa from 9-11 am. There will be a Silver Collection. December 10th is our annual Christmas Dinner & Dance. Tickets are $27 for members and $30 for non-members. Cocktails are at 5:30 pm. A roast beef dinner will be served at 6 pm. Tickets are available from board members or by calling Randy Benedictson at (204) 389-2394. December 31st, we will be having a New Year's Eve Social from 8 pm until 1:30 am. Tickets are just $15 per person and are available by calling any board member or Dave and Sandy Lobban at (204) 389-4980. We wish you and your families a very joyous holiday season--in any way you choose to celebrate. Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, and all the best for 2017.
