Reminder about "Hi Neighbour Day"

Don't forget we are having our 1st Annual Hi Neighbour Day in Matlock on Saturday, August 15th from 1-3 pm in the Matlock Rec Centre.

This is an indoor event, so it will happen -- rain or shine.

We will have 8 tables highlighting all the different events and activities that we have at the Matlock Rec Club.

Are you interested in walking and fitness, crib, whist, card making, quilting, or bingo? Are you interested in talking out a membership to the Matlock Rec Club, purchasing one of our great new cookbooks or buying tickets to the Sisters of the Holy Rock event on Sept 19th? How about getting in on the draw for the fab fire pit that we'll be drawing for? Tickets are just $2.

Regardless of your interests, please drop in and say Hi. All our board members will be on hand to welcome you, listen to your suggestions and ideas, and treat you to a coffee and donut.

It is with sadness that we say goodbye to Marjorie (Marj, Margie) Meisner, who passed away suddenly in her home on Monday, March 27, 2017. Marjorie will be missed by husband Ron, and everyone who knew her. She always had a smile for everyone she encountered. Marjorie (on the right) playing the ukulele. Marjorie is best known for her musical talents. She loved to sing, and played the guitar, the tin whistle, and the ukulele--probably others, as Marjorie's life was greatly enhanced by her musical connections. December events at the MRC

December is always a busy month at the Matlock Rec Club. On December 3rd, we've got Breakfast with Santa from 9-11 am. There will be a Silver Collection. December 10th is our annual Christmas Dinner & Dance. Tickets are $27 for members and $30 for non-members. Cocktails are at 5:30 pm. A roast beef dinner will be served at 6 pm. Tickets are available from board members or by calling Randy Benedictson at (204) 389-2394. December 31st, we will be having a New Year's Eve Social from 8 pm until 1:30 am. Tickets are just $15 per person and are available by calling any board member or Dave and Sandy Lobban at (204) 389-4980. We wish you and your families a very joyous holiday season--in any way you choose to celebrate. Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, and all the best for 2017.
